The case of the missing Chulita

The holidays are over and it was time to pick up the decorations and create some order around here. I was busy scurrying to tidy and organize while Chulita slept on the sofa. Eventually Chulita woke up and ran out to do her business. So far, nothing special. Just an ordinary day. Typically, Chulita runs around outside, takes care of business and comes back in a reasonable time. Today was different, I was busy cleaning and did not notice how long she was out there. Once I realized it had been over an hour, I started calling for her. No answer. I put my boots on and went looking. She was not in any of her usual spots: not under the balcony, not across the road at the neighbours terrorizing their cat, not in the yard behind the house. She was no where to be seen. I started to worry. I walked up the street. I walked down the street. But, there was no Chulita. The garbage truck came by and I asked them if they had seen her. Unfortunately, they hadn't. Tears started gently coming down my cheek. I was starting to get worried. I decided to get in my car and check the neighbourhood. As I turned the corner, I saw a family in the distance. There were about 6 kids with them, a chocolate lab and Chulita who was happily running from kid to dog and back to another kid.

What a relief! She was ok. The family explained that they were on a morning stroll to the pond and Chulita decided to join them. I was so thankful that all was ok. Most dogs go crazy when they see a squirrel or a cat. Chulita loses is it when children are involved. When I skype with my sister, Chulita goes nuts when she hears the voices of my niece and nephew.

When we got Chulita, she had been raised with children in the house. Then, She spent a lot of time around my friends kids and grandkids and loves running around with them.

I love my little, spoiled Chulita. She is so much fun having around. Life has definitely not been the same since she came into our lives. Can't wait for more adventures with her!!
